Clean the floor once in a while, maybe dust or replace the water damaged ceiling. The food was greasy and bad. But at least the service was slow.

Food was fine, the service was a bit slow but then again it's small town dinner not a corporate run chain restaurant that only cares about getting you in and out. Like the kinds you find in Denver. The food was homemade, it hit the spot after a long drive from Albuquerque. The restaurant is very old school and unique. If you want to experience an old time dinner from days gone by try this place.

Great relaxed place for morning coffee klatch. Phyllis' coffee has all the high octane caffeine one needs to get a workday off to a great start. Family run place, very community oriented and giving... For example, they collect clothing to hand out to those in need as well, which is very generous, and host a community Thanksgiving dinner each year.

Phyllis is a great cook and wonderful host. I love the Alpine Rose Cafe for breakfast and lunch. Easy to find right in the heart of downtown Walsenburg. Wonderful food and wonderful people.

The ultimate greasy spoon Cafe! It's been difficult for small businesses, especially Cafe/Diners, during this Covid-19 world we live in.This old school Cafe has all fixens and traditions you'd expect. Don't wait too long to visit this historic site. Cafés like the Apline Rose won't last forever.

Filthy. Three-year old ran around the restaurant with a fly swatter whacking table-tops. Glad she didn't try to whack the flies on our table. Every surface was greasy. We will Never go there again. Good luck to the owner however. It looks like she needs a lot of help

Stopped in to pick up a couple things during vacation.

Owner was very friendly. We shared the mushroom and swiss burger and she brought it to our table already split on two plates for us; that was thoughtful. If we ever pass through that town again, this is where we'll eat.

The wait staff doesn't seem to be trained on how to handle customers. She is nice but not very good at her job. The cook came out wearing dirty clothes and no apron. The food was awful. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was flat and dry. The portion of fries was very small and they weren't cooked properly. They were still raw and just covered in oil. My mom asked for honey mustard for her chicken strips and they brought a bottle of honey mustard out that was brown and had expired in 2010 (6 years ago.) The restaurant isn't clean either. Gross. Don't eat here. If you walk in before looking at the reviews but find this before you order, I highly suggest getting up and leaving.

Stopped in on our way back to Texas. Between the 4 of us, we had pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash browns, alpine omelet, & huevos rancheros. Everything was wonderful. Loved the nostalgic feel to the cafe, reminded me of my childhood.

Breakfast burritos are HUGE and amazing!!! I eat here at least once a week!!! Love it!!!

Yep, won’t make this mistake again. Service was slow. Had some customers kid run through the back of the bar then headed towards the kitchen. Random customers yell that the food is so great, etc. The whole situation was awful.

Was denied service with a service dog. I was with my wife and 5yr old son. Most people and restaurants don't know the law. Pretty much discrimination. In this day and age you just don't know what her reasons as to why we couldn't stay and eat she refused to see the law on the phone, was it because we are Latino who's know. I will never go back.

Open on a Sunday morning after a long night's drive. Simple, well made food, and delightful greetings from locals makes you feel welcome.

Food took over an hour and was clearly sitting under a warming light for a while. Overpriced and didn't taste good. Not recommended for a quick bite.

Years ago, summer of 75, I had the best bowl of chilli - ever! If I'm remembering it right, it was called the la rosa cafe. The interior pictures , especially those booths, fit the memory I have of that place . Any chance the Alpine used to be called LA Rosa ?

Tasty breakfast right in the center of town. They've been in business since 1920 and the owner has been running it for 46 years. I had chorizo and eggs with some salsa. The salsa looked homeade and it was really really good. 5 stars, old school breakfast! Delicious!

This is the truly like a trip to my grandmothers' kitchen! It is truly homemade, not pre fab. Plus the owners are absolutely wonderful!

Busy place because it is good. Very small, but again, the food is worth the wait imho. Friendly staff too.
